If you're a frequent traveler to Europe, it would be best to purchase small appliance items like hairdryers, curling irons, a steam iron, shavers etc. that are 220 voltage.  If you don't have time to purchase these small electrics online before leaving home, then in France continued below

Essentials for your trip!
It's imperative to have some of these items when traveling abroad. Europe runs on 220 - 240 voltage, so don't even think about plugging your hair-dryer, curling iron or shaver into a plug abroad.  First of all the plug won't fit, but if it did you would have a melted down shaver or other small electric appliance within seconds. Always check to be sure your using the correct power adaptor plug.

An umbrella is very important to have with you at all times in Europe. Mini umbrellas are the perfect solution, for purse or pocket. Additional should

Travel Tip Continued from above:
you can always find inexpensive models at a Carrefour, Monoprix or Darby Outlets are of course different but similar type stores in each country for adapters for the correct outlet socket size and shape for each country.  You'll find adaptor solutions for your worldwide travel - there are grounded adaptors [with a third prong] and non-grounded adaptor plugs, to be matched up with the type of appliance that you are using. Be cognizant of which plug you are using, or you will still have a ruined melted appliance.  If you travel to Europe several times a year, it is wise to purchase basic products with the 220-240 voltage.  Especially for women that use hair curling/straight hair irons and hair curlers, and the essential hairdryer -- needed by both men and women.  Also small compact clothes irons, and other small electrical basic products can be purchased relatively inexpensively.
travel+skin care
Travel Tips for Skin Care:
Skin care isn't just a must do while you're at home, but is essential when traveling to other cities and especially other countries where air qualities are different, the change of foods, this can play havoc with everyone when it comes to their skin.  You need to know that you're skin is dealing with totally different physical, climate and stress factors when traveling, and you should consider taking skin care items that will relieve many of these problems, that are beneficial everyday products.  Whether you are traveling for business, pleasure or attending school abroad.  Skin care should not be neglected; therefore, it is important to get familiar with the factors that impact skin while traveling.  And how you can prevent that while on-the-go. Your routine travel skin care should include  when traveling, or one of several other regimens that will work for you specifically with your type skin.

As noted, travel can take a toll and put additional stress on our nerves, but it can also take a toll on our skin health, so plan Your Skin Care Regimen accordingly whether traveling by air, land or water, where your skin can undergo changes and potential harmful shock to your system and skin. Some things that contribute to these negative effects especially the facial skin, are exposure to different climates, different foods as noted and just overall stress of the trip.

Skin Care Regimen Tips:
Start by practicing a daily skin care routine and drinking water will help keep your skin hydrated and moisturized.  Continue your daily or normal exercise regimen, add to that deep breathing to let out any anxieties to help you relax from stress. Before landing from a flight or train or cruise ship, wipe your face with bottled water before arrival at your destination. Take a break from wearing makeup, one day a week is good to do this, but remember to moisturize during your flight, train ride or cruise. Moisturize is the keyword, the air systems on planes are dry and pressurization play havoc with skin. Moisturize several times during transit.  Drink more water, avoid coffee, alcohol and salt. Teas are great to drink, and a good tip anyway, bring your own favorite tea bags, they don't take up that much room and you'll be assured that you enjoy your favorite tea.  Then just ask for a cup of hot water and prepare your tea!

Prepare in advance, take your proper skin care regimen that you plan to use. However, if you are flying, keep in mind the airline size restriction, and pack those in your baggage being stowed, or in your tote carry-on. Use quart size plastic bags and that none of the products inside are over 3.4 ounces. When packing these clear plastic bags [only 3 gels-paste-liquids to a bag], be sure to include the two main skin care products, by Regimen, air travel does dry the skin, use your toner to freshen up a bit. Bring cleansing eye cloths and sunscreen / moisturizer:  A combination of sunscreen/moisturizer will work for most skin types.

And Monitor Weather Conditions Wherever You're Traveling.  It is important to know temperatures, and overall weather conditions at your travel destination, so that you'll have the appropriate skin care products on hand. Depending upon colder air will affect your skin differently than humid or beach salt spray. Cooler climates call for a good moisturizer and night cream.  Warmer locations, always include a sunscreen [with appropriate SPF - sun protection factor] to fight aging effects of UV rays. Be sure to take your lip gloss type as lips can dry and chap quickly in any kind of weather. It is advisable to wear light moisturizing lip gloss rather than longer lasting lipsticks. Carry a tinted lip balm just in case if climate is extreme, and apply it regularly rather than lipstick to keep lips moisturized and healthy.  The best SPF protectorates are in the higher SPF formulas.

Always take small bottles of your own shampoo, conditioner, soaps and facial skin care products.  Those provided in hotels or resorts could cause skin reactions that you don't want to deal with while traveling. Bring travel sizes of your skin care regimen products, to be on the safe side.  And traveling necessitates that you ALWAYS carry a hand sanitizer, make sure it contains aloe or moisturizing ingredients. Use your Essentials moisturizing hand / body cream to help avoid drying hands out with hard water and harsh soaps. This will eliminate picking up some nasty bugs while traveling.

Reflecting on your diet, exercise or sleeping habits during travel, it is important to keep your routines as close to normal as possible.  To eliminate undue stress, and overall maintain a normal daily routine that includes your skin care products.
