Castles & Chateaux exclusive directory is unique, in that we specialize in Châteaux that are Bed and Breakfasts [also called Gites or Maison d'Hotes], Manors [a petit chateau], Hôtels de Charm, plus selected Abbayes and Hôstels that are for rent, lease or sale.
These beautiful and architecturally delightful residences,
landmarks and museums are a very special treat to visit,
let alone to stay at. The costs of maintaining these
wonderful homes and monuments are astronomical, and thus the
owners [and/or government] have had to become creative in
finding ways to help deter the costs of maintaining them.
So, they've become very ingenious in offering specialty
services, activities, schools and, in the case of government
owned chateaux, will offer at least reception facilities at many
of these monuments. All have been created for the visitor to enjoy, and in turn,
to help keep these marvelous structures from financial and physical ruin.
To Find
a Chateau:
First, you will find the castles and chateaux listed by country, then by the Province or Region, you just have to click on the link. This is the easiest and fastest to use directory on the Internet to find a castle or chateau to rent for a vacation, for a business seminar or reception, to lease long term, or to purchase.
Secondly, you'll see the list of chateaux together with a legend for type of service and/or accommodation that it offers. You'll find a multitude of specialty services, from B&B lodging to self catering facilities, to very elaborate facilities for seminars, etc., whatever occasion is called for -- reception, seminar, incentive program, cooking school, language school, riding academy, medieval chateaux to visit, national monument to plan an event at, or other event, etc.
Visitors please note the following: B&Bs, Gites and Maisons d'Hote are all similar in the sense that they are privately owned and offer either rooms [chambres]
and sometimes are self-catering homes.

The first countries that will be activated are: France, Belgium,
Luxembourg and Switzerland. We have a number of French Chateaux listed alphabetically by the type of specialized service that the chateau offers.
Thirdly, we also have an information section for each country with important contact information, services and useful information for you to check out before your trip. I can't tell you how great it is to have a lot of this information before you leave home, and don't have to waste your precious travel time to find it, and that you'll need while on your trip.
Lastly, and most importantly, all accommodation and/or monument sites listed in our directory, will be contacted by YOU directly to make your reservation. Most of the chateaux have their information in English.
