Right now many
passionate things are happening in Paris;
APICIUS
Since you love
Apicius on avenue de Villiers, you'll adore
Jean-Pierre Vigato at his new address on rue d'Artois. The
sumptuous staff goes well with the high level of gastronomy produced
by this great Chef. Since December, 2004,
APICIUS has been in the very chic Saint Philippe du Roule
area at an opening near an XVIIIth century style private hotel
embellished by a park. There one finds such great recipes as the
foie gras de canard poêlé
with mild vinegar, the flesh of bay prawns au couteau semi-baked in
olive oil, spit roasted rack of lamb des Pyrénées, and the croquant
à la réglisse or the millefeuille au café with coffee flavored ice
cream. The immense choice of wines, and the selection of cigars,
gratifies their admirers.
Menu from 120 €; àla carte from 80 to 150 €. Open every day except
Saturday and Sunday.

LUCAS CARTON
Palace
revolution. Chef Alain Senderens, owner of the prestigious and
luxurious restaurant LUCAS CARTON,
just decided to abandon his 3 Michelin Guide stars in order to
launch a gastronomie more in phase with the new customs of the times
and very much cheaper - the average price of a meal just dropped
from 300 to 100 €.
The magnificent work on the matching of the dishes and the wines
continues and new products will appear on the à
la carte menu. The new decoration is the magic of designer Noé
Duchaufour Lawrence and architect Axel Schoenert.
Lunch menu to 76 €;
à
la carte from 160 to 250 €.
Open every day except Saturday noon, Sunday and Monday noon. Closed
from July 11 to September 15, 2005.

AUGUSTE
The young Chef
Gaël
Orieux opens his restaurant across from Alain Passard's
L'Arpége.
The dinning room of AUGUSTE is
contemporaneous elegance with its red wall lively captioned la
banquette, the arm chair design, the clear walls and the surprising
ancient styled wooden floor. The chef, former second of Yannick
Alleno at L'Hôtel
Meurice
turns out a refined, traditional cuisine; come and enjoy poached
eggs and paillette de vieux parmesan or noix de Saint-Jacques and
bavarois de cresson. The chic clientele has already picked up his
habits.
Lunch menu to 35 €;
à
la carte from 40 to 70 €.
Open every day except Saturday and Sunday. AUGUSTE - 54, Rue de
Bourgogne - Paris 75007 - Tel: 01 45 51 61 09
TOKYO EAT
Lots of good
things are happening at the "Site de Création
Contemporaine" of the Tokyo Palace, commencing with the restaurant
itself. In a staggeringly amazing modernity, with a matching
furniture design and colored lights like the suns, the
TOKYO EAT Chef, Thierry Bassard,
settles upon us zucchini marinées
aux pétales
d'ail and mozzarella made from buffalo milk, creamy risotto aux légumes,
daurade à la plancha and his crumbly desserts aux fruits served in
glasses. For dinner, the list of dishes is completed by Tokyo Hits
to accompany the evening's musical selections. For the duration of
the 'belle saison', Eric and Claudio open their large terrace on the
esplanade, between the wings of the museum, where one can find
meals, have a drink or simply tan one's self in an artistic Festival
d'Avignon ambiance.
À
la carte from 18 to 40 €; Open every day except Monday.

LA
CUISINE
On the left
bank, two steps from the Seine, Christine Duboscq and Jean-Vincent
Selles have set up their restaurant LA
CUISINE in a soothing and polished atmosphere. There, the
young Chef Sébastien
Blettery prepares gastronomy that flirts with the stars; I recommend
the foie gras en terrine au Muscat with a purée of figs and plums,
braised lamb's knuckle aux poivrons doux on simmered haricot beans
and for dessert, soup made with ice cream, candies and passion
fruit. The beautiful wine list is signed Éric Baumard. It's the
ideal address to find the pleasure of a beautiful, elegant and calm
table.
Lunch menu to 29 €; menu to 42 €; à la carte from 37 to 65 €. Open
daily, except Saturday noon and Sunday noon.

CAFÉ
DE L'HOMME
The most
beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower! It's in a unique spot, on the
terraced ground floor of the Musée
de l'Homme, that the CAFÉ
DE L'HOMME
opens its doors.
The dinning room, made comfortable with long leather window seats,
a new elegant decor and its shinny monuments, receives the passing
big eaters from noon to midnight. The cuisine is comprised of
popular, successful dishes and the very young servers know how to
smile. For a beautiful evening on a terrace, give yourself Parisian
magic in front of the Tour.
Lunch menus from 25 and 30 €; à la carte 25 to 60 €. Open every
day; service all day.

TERRASSE MIRABEAU
Parisians favor
the beautiful terraces, but the ability to match the outdoors with
quality dishes isn't found often; its the success of Chef Pierre Négrevergne
- former second to Michel Rostang - who's responsible for the tasty
cuisine at the TERRASSE MIRABEAU in
elegant surroundings open to the outside. Among the most
appreciated dishes is the crusty prawn tails from Brittany, the faux
filet d'Aubrac with dauphinois potatoes, the fricassee of organic
poultry aux citron confites or banana créme
brûlée
à
la vanille Bourbon that creates happiness among the regular
clientele.
Menus to 28 and 36 €;
Open daily except Saturday noon and Sunday.

LE ROLAND GARROS
It's in front of
a small country-side house, in a real garden, among the most
agreeable in Paris that LE ROLAND GARROS
sets its summer tables - at the entrance to the stadium where the
international tennis matches are played every year. Chef Xavier
Rousseau, a young chef who arrived from
La Grande Cascade, this season proposes the terrine of foie
gras with fig marmalade, southwestern French chicken and its runny
puree made without butter and the tarte aux poires with caramel ice
cream au beurre salé.
At the à
la carte "Bar" you discover Club Sandwiches built by the 3 star
chef Marc Veyrat.
Menus to 45 and 60 €;
à
la cart 35 to 75 €.
Open every day except Sunday evening.
