you'll find Notre Dame Cathedral [where all distances in France start at], the Hotel de Ville Paris [Mayor], Hotel du Sully On the Right Bank of the Seine, and medieval district of

the Left Bank of the Seine, is the famous Latin Quarter. In this district
you'll find the Arena of Lutece [Paris was called Lutetia by the Romans],
the Museum National du Moyen Age [Cluny Museum - Roman Baths], and
the Pantheon.
Latin was the common language for students during the Middle Ages, and the area takes its name from the Sorbonne. This is a charming
area, with the feel of a small village. The rue Mouffetard is another bustling area to visit with
an abundant of international restaurants, shops, bars and cafés. This

On the Left
Bank of the Seine, is St. Germain des Pres, and the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts, the Palais du Luxembourg that is home to the
French Senate within Luxembourg Gardens. You'll find the Abbey of Eglise Saint-Germain-des-Pres that was founded in the 6th century is located here. This was
bohemian Paris, but the neighborhood underwent major changes and is now very chic,
with upscale boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants.

On the Right Bank
of the Seine, you'll find this very diverse upscale neighborhood and the Champs Elysèe, Arc de triomphe, Place de la Concorde, and Elysee Palace [official residence of the French President]. Located between
the Champs Elysee and Place de la Madeleine with a vast mixture of 19th century
buildings of every type architecture interspersed among businesses. Here is
Boulevard Haussmann and the elite department stores Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, and part of the business center is located around the Opéra.

11th Arrondissement

On the Right Bank of the Seine, is where the Place de la Bastille is and
the New Opera as well. This is mostly a residential area, and is the most dense
populated urban district not only in Paris but of any European city. To the west
lies the Place de la République, that is linked to the Place de la Bastille. Find
the magnificent tree-lined Boulevard Richard Lenoir, its large markets and children's
parks. The Place de la Bastille is here, and rue du Faubourg, St. Antoine are the
streets for high fashion with fashionable boutiques, galleries, cafés, restaurants,
and nightlife. Find the Oberkampf nightlife area to the north.

12th Arrondissement
|
On the Right Bank of the Seine, this residential neighborhood is bordered
on the east by the Parc Bois de Vincennes, Cours-Saint-Emilion that houses the French Ministry of Finances and the Bercy and Bercy Arena.. The 12th
district
has the Opéra de la Bastille, the second largest opera house in Paris that
was opened in 1989, after the 200th anniversary of the storming of the
Bastille.

On the Left Bank of the Seine, is this residential neighborhood, that
includes Paris' Chinatown that is located in the southeast part of the arrondissement, and
also an with many high-rise apartment buildings. E F |
14th Arrondissement
|
On the Right Bank of the Seine, Montparnasse and the Cité Universitaire
are here in this residential district, with lively cafés and restaurants that
surround the Boulevard Montparnasse, containing a large part of the Montparnasse
district.
This area has traditionally been home to many artists and a
large Breton neighborhood. Montparnasse is primarily known for it's tower the Tour
Montparnasse skyscraper, which raised quite a ruckus before finally being bulit in an
area of low lying buildings. The Gare Montparnasse is located, another main train

15th Arrondissement
|
On the Left Bank of the Seine, this area is primarily
residential ranging from very upscale to a more modest and affordable in outlying areas. It shares the Montparnasse district with the 6th and 14th districts, and Paris's most
populated district. The Tour Montparnasse and Gare Montparnasse border on the 15th arrondissement. The 15th has the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre and
the high-rise district of Beaugrenelle.

16th Arrondissement
|
On the Right Bank of the Seine, is the Bois de Boulogne, Trocadero. It
isn't auite as exclusive as the 7th arrondissement, but this area is regarded as an
area of the wealthy, including the residential areas of Auteuil and Passy and is
also the
home to many diplomatic embassies, and the famous Avenue Foch. The
16th hosts several sporting events that include the Parc des Princes, Roland
Garros Stadium, where the French Open tennis championships are held; and Stade Jean-Bouin, home to the Stade Français rugby union club.

17th Arrondissement
|
On the Right
Bank of the Seine is this very diverse district that contains
several neighborhoods. To the west near the Arc de Triomph is
Parc Monceau . . very upscale. The extreme southeastern part of
the arrondissement houses the working-class near Place de Clichy
[an extension of the Pigalle] and Montmartre. The
southwestern part, ia an upper-class area around the avenue des
Ternes, where the Marché Poncelet is located. Between these two
neighborhoods is the former village of Batignolles. The 17th
hosts the Palais des Congrès of Paris, a large exhibition center
and high-rise hotel, the Concorde Lafayette, the largest in the
city.

18th Arrondissement
|
On the Right Bank of the Seine, is Montmartre. This is the artsy
residential neighborhood that has the feel of a small village with lots of tourists.
It's mostly noted for housing the Montmartre district, that is dominated by the Sacré
Coeur
basilica, as well as the famous Moulin Rouge. And houses the African and
North African district of Goutte d'Or and it's famous market, the marché Barbès.
Here one can find numerous and various products from that continent.

19th Arrondissement
|
On the Right Bank of the Seine is composed of primarily a residential
neighborhood with wonderful ethnic restaurants and shops, and is crossed by two
canals. The Canal Saint-Denis and the Canal de l'Ourcq, that meet at the Parc de
la
Villette. The other major park is the Parc des Buttes Chaumont,
located on a hill, that is home to both the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie museum and
exhibition centre, and also the Conservatoire de Paris, one of the most renowned
music schools in Europe and part of the Cité de la Musique. E F |
20th Arrondissement

On the Right Bank of the Seine, is the 20th district that is
fast becoming the up-an-coming yuppy area with the two neighborhoods of Belleville and
Ménilmontant and the famous Père-Lachaise cemetery, where one can find many famous
composers such as Chopin and Rossini, famous writers including Oscar Wilde and Marcel Proust, and famous painters Pissarro, Jacques-Louis David and
