Luggage Travel Tips
Even if you are among the younger set,
it really gets quite old very quickly carrying luggage by hand, or lugging a heavy tote bag on your shoulder. Needless to say how
sore your neck, arms and back are going to feel. Enjoy your
trip to it's fullest, and if you don't own a wheeled suitcase, buy
one. It's one of the best
investments that you can make for
traveling.
Whether you need suitcases, luggage or
baggage we have them here --dozens of selections -- every
type bag, for whatever your need or occasion to select from. Your
travel should be enjoyable, so when traveling abroad or anywhere
for that matter, we highly recommend luggage with wheels. Thank
goodness that besides regular suitcases on wheels nowadays,
you'll also find duffle bags and totes and most larger items all
have wheeled selections.
Airports & Train Stations Baggage Handling and
Secure Belts or Pouches
Travel Tips
and of course wheeled briefcase models. Don't destroy
your neck, arms and back trying to lug these items
all over an airport or worse. In the US we have
porters readily available to help you at the airport or
train
station. This is not true in France, and Europe in
general, it is just the opposite, so you'll be lugging
or
toting your baggage yourself with no help
or assistance. So plan ahead and be aware of these
conditions
so that you're prepared and can handle your own baggage
or luggage.
You may think that buying rather
non-descript purses and tote bags that are clear plastic
unfashionable,
but in actuality they will allow you to pass through a
security check point NO
sharp objects can be carried on your person [including
your carry-on] such as nail files, pocket knives,
scissors -- anything that can be used as a potential
threatening item.
One of the most important
items to have is a secure money belt, waist pack or neck
pouch, arm wallet or
leg pouch to carry your important documents like your
passport and other important items including travelers
checks and cash and jewelry. Secure anything that the
would be thief would like to steal from you. This is
quite common, and you need to be prepared for such
events should they happen. Be sure that older children
have their own secure belts or pouches as well. Be
aware in Train stations as well, they are busy, crowded
and people bumping into one another. Don't have your
valuables where they can nab them! The old adage
says "out of sight...out of mind" which applies here,
as well as your being observant of what's going on
around you.
In our Passports and Visas section, you'll find contact
information from the U.S. State Department with
contact information for Embassies and Consulates in all
countries worldwide. Having a purse or wallet
stolen is common, in turn if you're carrying your
passport and other valuables in a purse or tote and it
gets
ripped off -- you're in trouble. Use the menu by
regions of the world, and select the country or
countries that
you'll be visiting. Also click on the Embassy
information to get phone numbers and addresses to keep
on
your person in that secure pouch. Click here to get
important Department of State information to print out
and take with you on your trip.
